Level Design for Moo Lander

The great guys at The Sixth Hammer, a fellow indie game dev team based in Plovdiv, Bulgaria has asked us to design most of the levels for its upcoming game Moo Lander.

It’s a gorgeous adventure platformer where you control an alien in a little spaceship, looking for a way to provide its people the one resource their whole technology is based on: milk!

As you probably guess it’s humorous, has a great storyline and lore, is action-packed with a ton of gadgets and upgrades, not to mention the level design is pure genius.

The first DGTOWs

I know what you’re thinking.

“What’s a DGTOW?” and then, “Making stuff up again, wise ass?”.

Yes. It stands for “Developers Going Their Own Way”. For those of you who’ve been following us for a while, you must know that almost a year ago, Simon and I parted ways. In good terms, rest assured.

“Rght, tehy say dat but h8 eech others effin face!” some unrelated asshole comments on the internets.

Not at all. We just realized we wanted to do things differently and the purpose of going indie wasn’t to compromise. We valued our friendship more then our partnership, so we went solo before things turned sour. We’re still good friends, rethink the world over a pint every once in a while and will help each other out with our respective projects in the future.

“Will you then stop saying we when referring to Grave Danger Games? It’s just you now. This is ridiculous. You can’t do that.”

Of course we can.

Reviews Galore!

So, the game is out and we’re taking some time off.

Well… not that I fully grasp the whole “time off” concept, but after the release frenzy things are definitely cooling down, so to speak.

There’s a growing amount of reviews out, gamers play it on Twitch and Youtube, everybody loves the game, it’s great!

Also, there’s this guy from Review Fix who interviewed Simon, check it out!

On Steam tomorrow!

So this is the last day before AFTERGRINDER’s launch on Steam.

Am I nervous? I slept 3 hours last night. I’m speaking growls and well… I guess I smell funny.

I play the game relentlessly, hoping and fearing at the same time to get that f*cking crash that was there all along but never happened to occur until NOW.

My daughter walks in my home office, stares at the screen for a couple minutes and then asks in all honesty: “Papa, why did you make a game that you can’t play yourself?”

Kids. Why did I even bother.

Steam approved!

Hell yes.

We’ve just been approved by Steam and nothing, NOTHING will get in our bug-squashing-last-minute-feature-creep-soul-searching way of releasing this nerve wrecking game that is AFTERGRINDER!!!

Time to put AFTERGRINDER on your whishlist. You know you deserve the pain.
